Emetophobia
By Keiti | July 17, 2007
I got the funniest phone call from L. o’Balls this afternoon. She had left me a frantic message while I was in the shower. With everything that’s been going on with her lately, I had no clue what it was. So I called her back, and the first words out of her mouth were:
“You’re the only person I know who will understand this…”
She goes on to tell me (remind me, actually) that A. and B. were both pukey sick, and now L. has it.
I giggled because she’s right about my being the only person who would understand about her being what I affectionately call “pukephobic.”
Mostly because I am, too.
I knew there was an actual term for it, but I had to google it to find out: Emetophobia.
As far as I’m concerned, though, “pukephobic” has a much cooler ring to it.
I have no clue what I’m going to do when I have kids. I never got pukey sick much growing up and, thankfully, I still don’t, despite the fact that L. o’ Balls calls me Typhoid Mary because I’m generally the one passing around cooties.
