The Things That Drive Me Crazy
By Keiti | September 13, 2007
There are many things I do that drive me a little bit insane - but the one thing I could seriously do without are the arguments I have with other people…in my head. I mean the arguments happen in my head - I’m not arguing with imaginary people.
Anyway, the arguments generally happen when I’m over something, but still don’t feel like I’ve completely had my say - or if I wish I would have said something differently than I did. Lately, I’ve been having periodic arguments with S. of the ex variety - and the worst part is that they come out of nowhere. Today, I’m driving home from work and the song Makes Me Wonder by Maroon 5 came on. The whole song doesn’t apply because I have absolutely no desire to try to win him back, but the bridge is quite another story.
For those of you who aren’t familiar with it, the lyrics are:
I still don’t have the reason
And you don’t have the time
And it really makes me wonder
If I ever gave a f*!k about you

I’ve realized many things over the past couple of months, including the fact that the things he said to me were absolutely nothing except excuses and that he really meant none of it.
And that’s okay.
Because I honestly and truly have better and more productive things to do with my time and efforts. Part of me wishes things were different - that he had the wherewithall to stand by what he said about wanting to be friends; he does have some really great qualities. But, if nothing else, I’ve learned that potential doesn’t mean shit if people aren’t willing to capitalize on it.
