Misfit Hall of Fame

Some people get their best ideas while they’re in the shower or driving - me: I tend to do my best thinking when I’m at work and supposed to be working. For some reason the concept of having to concentrate on normal, everyday tasks sends my mind spiraling to every nook and cranny except those that actually have to do with work.
Yesterday I started thinking about what constitutes a misfit. There are so many attributes one could use to define a misfit, but since I was looking for a general definition instead of a mile-long list of descriptive terms, I decided to take the easy route and look it up online.
According to dictionary.com, the definition of a misfit is “a person who is not suited or is unable to adjust to the circumstances of his or her particular situation”.
Too much these days, being a misfit is consistently delegated to the realm of evil (black clothes and trenchcoats, anyone?) which gives all of us a bad reputation - just because us misfits don’t always fit into what is considered the social norm doesn’t make us bad; in fact, I firmly believe there are many more misfits who are good people in spite of those who show up on the news channels on a fairly regular basis. So, with this definition as a starting point, I’ve decided to create a series of blogs that showcase misfits using their misfit status for good rather than ill.
Stay tuned to see who pops up on the Misfit Hall of Fame.
