Sleep: Who Needs It? Part II
By Keiti | September 29, 2007
So, I ended up being awake for a good majority of the day after my brother called and woke me up. The first thing I did was turn the ringer off on the phone nearest my room to avoid that happening again. Was up tooling around online until about 2pm, when I passed out again and slept until 5:30 when I had to get up and get ready to go out to dinner with my family. It’s nearly midnight now, and I’m still pretty wide awake so things are looking good. I doubt that I’ll make it until 6am, but I can already feel my body adjusting to the new schedule.
That is a good thing.
The real verdict will come when I have to go to work Monday night and work from 5pm to 6am. I’m just going to try to stay awake as late as I can tonight and tomorrow night. Hopefully by the time Monday night rolls around, I’ll be all set.
So, I’m spending tonight working on my essay for grad school, which I had planned on writing weeks ago and am just getting around to it. Tomorrow, I’ll complete the online applications for the various overseas schools, and send my mom to work on Monday with a fax for transcripts to be sent and send emails to those who are writing my recommendations. Hopefully, this time around will prove to be more fruitful than my application to University of Glasgow. I still have no idea how I’m going to pay for all of this, but I’ll figure it out.
And - just for the record - I haven’t hurt this bad in a long time. If I sit too long, I’m hunched over like and elderly lady for a minute before I can get my back muscles working enough to stand up straight. And don’t get me started about sitting down and getting up from a chair - I have to actually use my arms to push myself up enough to where my legs don’t feel like they’re going to give out.
I can’t wait until tomorrow…
