Sleep: Who Needs It?
By The Misfit | September 29, 2007
So, in an effort to switch my body schedule over for the night shift, which starts on Monday, I decided that this weekend would be a bit of playtime, which I haven’t had in ages.
So I went out clubbing.
I swear, there’s nothing that makes me feel old like spending the night at a club I used to practically live at – with all the young freaks and their boundless energy and their taste in the new music; with asking for the music I like to dance to, actually getting it played, and barely having the energy to stand, much less dance, and finally leaving the club at 3:45am, wired, but feeling like my legs were going to fall off.
(Just for the record, I know the worst is yet to come – tomorrow’s going to be a real bitch, pain-wise.)
But I had a great time, all things told. I purposefully took Friday nights off so I could go out if I wanted to, although I’m not sure if my body will handle it all that well. I guess we’ll see. Besides, it’s not like I can’t use the exercise, and dancing is really the only thing I like to do in that regard. I hate going to the gym because it’s boring and solitary. There’s just something special about spending the night with friends, dancing like fools, and hanging out.
I still shouldn’t be up and wide awake after only 4 hours of sleep, though.
I’m sure my bed will be singing it’s siren call here shortly.
