And So It Begins Anew

By Keiti | October 25, 2007

As mentioned in my previous post about the revelation that Dumbledore is gay, the ridiculousness is starting again, and not only in regards to homosexuality.

Here’s a story about a Catholic Priest in Massachusetts who has removed the Harry Potter books from the shelves of a parochial school because “they are spiritually dangerous for children and could encourage them to engage in witchcraft”.

Now because it’s a parochial school, he has every right to remove them if he so wishes.  But since I’ve never been one to believe that books (or movies or music, for that matter) can be blamed for any sort of behavioral issues, I think it’s ridiculous - all of the afore-mentioned venues of entertainment have been consistently demonized for people’s choices in life and used as excuses for those choices.  Seems that personal responsibility was tossed out the door years ago along with common sense.
