The Best Christmas Present Ever! or Haggis, Anyone?
By Keiti | December 12, 2007
Some of you who have been reading my blog before I took most of my old posts down might remember that I applied to the University of Glasgow for my Masters.
You might also remember that back in April I was given a resounding “No” for an answer.
Disappointed, I decided to go ahead and throw my hat into the ring with a couple of different schools - Birmingham City University in Birmingham, England, The University of Aberdeen, and the University of Stirling, both in Scotland.
Since everyone at the top of my list has been notified, I can now announce that I received an email from the University of Stirling this morning telling me that I’ve been accepted for their MLitt programme in The Gothic Imagination.
Glasgow’s loss is Stirling’s gain!
I haven’t yet received the official acceptance letter, but I suspect it will arrive sometime within the next couple of weeks.
I also haven’t figured out how I’m going to pay for it, but, God willing, I’ll be able to pull it off.
There’s so much to do and I have to get everything figured out in less than a year.
I’m still waiting to hear back from the other Universities, but Stirling, having gotten back to me first, will most likely get the nod. Besides, The Gothic Imagination programme is right up my alley and will give me expertise in a literary genre that isn’t just 19th Century Fiction or Shakespeare or any of the other typical Lit programs.
I’m so going to Scotland!

Thanks, simplycara!
I told you I wouldn’t be able to keep it to myself for very long.
