Now It’s Time to Freak Out…

By Keiti | January 22, 2008

So, I come home from my new job today to another correspondence from the University of Stirling acknowledging that I have been offered acceptance to The Gothic Imagination program and that they have received my acceptance of said offer. Classes start on September 15th, and they included a form to fill out for living accommodations.

Now it’s really starting to sink in. I need to return the living accommodation form along with a 300 pound deposit (about $600), as soon as possible to ensure a spot.

In addition to getting that in, I need to start making travel arrangements - Since I don’t like to fly, and because this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, I have decided to take the Queen Mary 2 over which, oddly enough, isn’t really too much more expensive than flying.

There are some things I need to find out about taking the cruise - most importantly, if for any reason I can’t get together all the funds I need to attend school this fall and need to defer, can I reschedule the cruise without too much hassle or a hefty fee for the reschedule. I also need to figure out how I’m going to get up to New York since that appears to be the only place I can pick up the ship. On top of that, I’ve got to get a train ticket from Southampton, England, to Stirling.

I’m excited about this opportunity, more than I can possibly tell you, but I’d be a liar if I didn’t tell you that I was completely and utterly freaked out.

I have no clue how I’m going to pull this off. Juggling the logistics is one thing and completely doable. It’s the funds that I’m concerned about.

Please pray for me…
