Happy Birthday to Me!

In honor of the momentous occasion ( my 37th!) I vow the following:

I will not spend one minute of today worrying about my weight, feeling old, or bemoaning the fact that I want to reconnect with a friend of mine who used to be a very big part of my life.

I don’t think he knows.

I’ve never told him.

And I won’t.

Because I don’t have the cajones.

(And, yes, I know that it’s physically impossible for me to have cajones without extensive and irreversible surgery…work with me here!)

Which is funny, because it would appear that I’ve learned how to subdue my initial impulse to say whatever comes to mind.

That was a long time in coming.

    I actually had a piece of chocolate cake to celebrate.

    Now I’m coming off my sugar high and feel a bit icky.
