This is the Very Ecstasy of Love

The reality of heading to Scotland in just over three months is finally beginning to set in - barring any snafus with my visa (which has yet to be applied for) I’ll be leaving NYC the beginning of September.
As it turns out, one of my best friends, Cactus Girl, will be in London around the same time I arrive as she’ll be en route to the continent for a two-week study abroad program for her MBA. We’ve both been so busy lately we hadn’t had time to chat much, but when she called me last Saturday, she had some interesting news: the Royal Shakespeare Company is putting on Hamlet with David Tennant as Hamlet.
If truth be told, I hate reading Shakespeare, but I love to see his work performed, so I’m all for going to see Hamlet. Besides, how often am I really going to have the chance to see Shakespeare performed by the Royal Shakespeare Company? In England, no less.
So when I got to work today I got around to doing some research about when the show was running, how much tickets cost, etc. I never did find out the cost, but I did run across an even more interesting tidbit of info:
Patrick Stewart is playing Claudius in the same production.
Patrick. Stewart.
I love Patrick Stewart.
Never mind the fact that he’s old enough to be my father, the man is ridiculously sexy and I’d give my right arm to see him read the phone book perform Shakespeare.
The only hitch to this at the moment is that I don’t know how many tickets I’ll need to get. At this point, Cactus Girl isn’t due in London until two days after I arrive and one day before I leave and there’s only one day Hamlet is running in the three days I’ll be in London. She’s looking into maybe getting an earlier flight.
On top of that, there’s a chance I’ll have company on the cruise which is awesome, but I don’t know for sure whether that’s going to happen or not, so I don’t know whether to include an additional ticket.
I’ll be going whether everyone can work out logistics or not (provided I can get a ticket) but it would be far more intriguing to go see Shakespeare with people who would not only enjoy it, but actually be able to talk about it afterwards.
That and put up with my insane plan to wait by the backstage door for Patrick.

Do you think Telly Savalas would have been as sexy as Patrick Stewart playing Claudius in Hamlet?
When I say ‘Yule Brenner in the King and I’ does it make your palms sweaty and shorten your breath?
Ha! I hope you are doing well. It sounds exciting running off to Great Britain.
Hagis is on the horizon!

Naw…not a big Telly Savalas Fan.
Yul Brynner, on the other hand…

Things are going well - just working towards getting back to Florida so I can really get ready to go.
