Damn, Foiled Again!

By Keiti | June 4, 2008

Well, my dreams of accosting Patrick Stewart at the side door after the performance of Hamlet have been squashed.  As it turns out, the show is sold out.
:-(
The resulting text conversation with Cactus Girl went something like this:

Me:  It appears that Hamlet is already sold out.  :-(

CG:  Sad.  It wouldn’t let me get tix.  I thought it was me.

Me:  I figure it’s already sold out (most likely) or they haven’t gone on sale yet (grasping at straws).

CG:  Not my day I need a shot of positive.

Me: So true.  My crankies are getting worse.  Maybe we should find someone to stalk.  Who do we know that lives in London?

CG:  Bob and Mary Smith.  [i.e. Robert Smith (The Cure) and his wife Mary - an inside joke...]

Me:  :-) right.  Cept I don’t feel exceptionally incline to stalk them.  Is there anyone we’re actually attracted to?

CG:  Good point.

Me: Maybe if [name deleted by blogger] goes we can give him a 30 min head start… ;-)
CG:  I love it.

The rest of the afternoon was spent giggling at the thought of playing cat and mouse through the streets of London.  Kind of like the misfit version of Mod Squad.

So now we get to figure out what we want to do while we’re in London.  I still don’t know if Cactus Girl will be able to get an earlier flight, so I may end up on my own for a couple of days.

What would you do if you had three days to spend in London doing whatever you wanted?

If I had 3 days in London, I would probably go to the Louvre, or I’d buy a kilt in my family colors, or maybe I’d check out the coloseum where the gladiators fought.

Just a thought…those would be at the top of my list.

    K~,
How can you not know anything about the British museum? It houses all things British - you’ll be able to see exhibits on wine making, world class cooking, mummies, the first airplane, and the invention of silk……all British, right?

Actually, I’ll probably never go to London - from what I’ve seen, the weather is always cold and wet, and the women are just cold. :-)
