Welcome to the Nuthouse
By The Misfit | June 9, 2008
I’m not sure what’s going on, but my anxiety level has been pretty bad lately – not the “hide in the house until it passes” variety, but it’s been enough to set my teeth on edge.
To counterbalance the anxiety, though, I got my first home cooked food today in the form of mac & cheese.
It was yummy goodness.
And completely made my day.
Thanks, dh.

Glad to make your day!
This weekend I’m going to be smoking a pork shoulder and will be transforming it into pulled pork/bbq…hope you like that because there’s no way I can eat 8 lbs of meat before it spoils…

You’d better set aside your portion because NO ONE stands between me and bbq and lives.
Now if we could only find some decent fried okra around these here parts…

Fried okra? In these parts, we fry cheese curds…just the way we roll in Wisconsin!

Yeah, but NOTHING goes better with pulled pork bbq than fried okra.

pretty sure corn on the cob could kick the shit out of a little piece of okra. hell, i bet fried cheese curds and home made french fries could woop the ass of a little piece of okra….
sorry, but i’m pretty sure i’m right about this one…

Are you really going to make me repeat myself?
I’ll grant you that fries go awesome with bbq, especially home made fries, but you lose on the cheese curds vs fried okra thing.

how about sweat potato french fries vs. okra in a caged death match?
i might have to get my turkey fryer out this weekend to settle this shit…damn you.

Sweet potato fries trump regular fries, but I stand by the fried okra.

I’ll let you know what the schedule looks like on Sunday, but the smoker takes about 4 or 5 hours…
I’ll fire up the fryer and make some french fries (both kinds) and some fried cheese curds – with a healthy side of ranch sauce for dipping.

Sounds like a plan. Just let me know when and where.
Got any board games?
