Back to the Grind

By Keiti | July 22, 2008

I meant to post last night, but not only did I get home much later than anticipated, I also ended up with a nasty sinus headache that had the potential to get much worse.  I basically got home, unpacked my car, grabbed a little bit to gnosh on, then curled up in bed and watched The Middleman on ABC Family.

It was fun hanging out with my brother all weekend - it’s probably the first time I’ve seen him in a year and he only lives an hour and a half north of me.  We went and saw The Dark Knight Saturday night, which was a-maz-ing!  I won’t spoil it for those who haven’t seen it yet, but I highly recommend it.  I kind of went into it not wanting to like Heath Ledger’s performance as the Joker - mostly because of the hype surrounding it after his death - sometimes a performance is undeservedly hyped up after an actor’s death - but I walked out of the theatre completely blown away.  So go see it.  You won’t be disappointed.

The rest of the weekend was spent hanging out at the house, alternately cleaning, getting some reading done, and watching the Tour de France.

It was nice.  I did spend most of the weekend a bit anxious, though I haven’t been able to pinpoint why.  That’s the annoying thing about anxiety - at least in my case - there very rarely ever seems to be one situation that sets it off.

So today is back to the grind.  I’ve got a yard sale to get ready for and I’ve got to continue my preparation for leaving.  I’m down to about a month-and-a-half and I’m wondering if I’ll ever be able to get everything done.

And I’m sad that I haven’t been able to find someone to take the Queen Mary 2 trip with me.  I’m paying for a double occupancy and I’ve been making the rounds with my friends, but no one has been able to either afford it or free up the time.  I understand, and I’m certainly used to taking major trips alone since I’ve done it for as long as I can remember, but it would be cool to have a traveling companion.
