Oh, The Fluidity…

By Keiti | July 25, 2008

Today was spent running errands with my father; I wanted to hit the Apple store down in Palm Beach Gardens to pick up World Traveler plugs for my laptop and he wanted to go by Williams Sonoma.  We made a morning of it - hit the stores then grabbed lunch before heading back home.  After that I ended up sleeping the afternoon away.  I tend to do that when I’m stressed out, and to say that I’m a bit overwhelmed would be an understatement.

I also booked my train ticket from West Palm Beach to NYC - my friend, L. o’Balls is still taking the train with me, so that’s cool.  I’m happy to have a friend to share at least that part of the journey with me.

I think I’ve also decided to forego the three days in London and just scoot on up to Stirling.  As much as I’d like to spend the time in London, it’s pretty damn expensive and since I don’t have anyone taking the international part of the trip with me, I don’t have anyone to split the costs with.  So I need to email the school to see about getting accommodations a couple of days early.  It makes sense to get up there early, anyway - it’ll give me time to check out Stirling and take care of things like opening up a bank account and doing a bit of shopping for things I’ll need to pick up.

So, that’s where things stand, now.  I need to start making phone calls to Cunard to see about them picking up and delivering some of my baggage.  Which means I need to find out the address for them to deliver them to.  I’m really not taking more than two suitcases, my laptop, and a carry on bag, but the less I physically have to contend with, the better.

Yard sale coming up this Saturday.  My mom and I are going to spend part of the day continuing to sort through things and get everything together to be put out on Saturday morning.  I’m hoping it will be a bit lucrative - I’m trying to pay for what I can out of pocket instead of hitting the money set aside in what I affectionaly refer to as “the Scotland account”.

Wish me luck.
