Monday Morning Misfit
By Keiti | July 28, 2008
I’m having a hard time getting started this morning. I was up until 2am reading - woke up at 7, continued dozing until 9 or so, got up and have accomplished absolutely nothing. Nada. Zilch.
The yard sale went fine - not as lucrative as I’d have liked, but I got rid of some stuff. My neighbor, J., across the street came over and hung out for a bit which was cool. B.A. brought me iced coffee from you know where and kept me company for a little bit. It’s the first time I’ve seen him since I got back. It was so unbearably hot on Saturday that I decided to skip the yard sale on Sunday and have chosen to donate everything that’s left. Books will go to the library, clothes and other knick-knacks will go to my parents’ church - they run a soup kitchen on Wednesdays and one of the ladies, Mrs. B. R., runs a clothing boutique that people who come to eat can choose clothes from for free, and they also have a thrift store that will get everything else. The few pieces of furniture will go to whichever thrift store in town will come pick them up (if none of them will, I’ll put them down by the curb with a “free” sign and let someone pick them up). I’ve just got to get everything separated and ready to go.
I am also now officially without a car - my brother came down for the weekend and took my car back up with him. I’ll sign the title over to him today once my dad gets it from the safety deposit box. It’s going to be weird not having a car, but I’m also glad to be rid of it. It’s a great car, hardly pretty, but definitely dependable. Thankfully, I can use one of my parents’ cars when I need to so I think I’ll survive the next 5 weeks without my own car.
5 weeks.
It still doesn’t seem like enough time to get everything done.
