Day Two
By The Misfit | August 13, 2009
So my parents arrived yesterday morning. It was funny, because my parents were originally going to drive to the hotel first to see about an early check in and were supposed to call me. So, I wandered over to the campus to get a cup of coffee and something to eat before moseying my way back to the residence. On the walk back, I was thinking about the strangeness of them not having called yet since their flight arrived at 7:30 or so, and it was 10-ish. As I was rounding the corner to the residence, I said to myself, “watch them be waiting for me here,” and as soon as I turned the corner, there they were. It was fantastic! So, we hung out for a bit, walking around campus, and catching up until they could check into the hotel.
Not sure what’s going on today – we were supposed to leave for Inverness, but there must be some sort of golfing thing going on as all the hotels are full. So, we may spend another day in Stirling before we head off to other places.
They had a grand time in Dublin – was regaled with stories yesterday – and my jealousy of not being able to go myself was assauged by two things: all the pictures my mom took of a statue of Oscar Wilde for me, and the awesomest tote bag my mom brought me.
Must go take a shower – need to get going and grab a bite to eat before the day starts in full force. Dad picked up a throw-away cell phone to use while he’s here – that’ll make things much easier with us staying in two separate places.

Don’t forget what I want. A nice Scot Lass, and a nice bottle of Cask Strength Single Malt. Oh and a stone from Glenoe.

Wish I was there as well, but alas, I have to work at shaping little minds into evil conservatives.
