It’s Monday!!!
By The Misfit | February 1, 2010
Okay, so there’s usually nothing exciting about Mondays. Today’s no different. Except that I have a different ‘tude.
For the moment, anyway.
For the past couple of weeks I’ve been cataloging books at my parents’ church’s library – that’s essentially finished, though there are a few wrap-up things that need to be done. Don’t know when that’ll happen, but for now it’s done.
I’ve also been working on getting my teaching certification finished. Of course, I started this process years ago, but I’m so close to having it done, I may as well get it completed. Right now I’m trying to schedule my observation and lesson plan teaching at my brother’s school. Once that’s done and the paperwork submitted, I only need to take the Professional Educators Test. I was hoping to get all this done by 1 March, when I’m supposed to work a couple-of-months gig. Since I’m not sure that’ll happen, I’m going to re-apply for a temporary certificate so I can at least apply for jobs and worry about finishing the test at a later date.
Getting the temporary certification requires me to take some extra steps on account of getting my MLitt from a non-US university. And requires shelling out a buttload of money that I wouldn’t normally have to spend. Truthfully, it’s only between $150-$200, but when you’re not working that’s a lot of money.
Never mind the fact I swore I’d never teach anything below college level ever again.
I meant to blog about all this stuff last week. Got sidetracked by some things I won’t be discussing. Some of it will hopefully come to fruition enough to where I can blog about it. Others won’t be making the pages. But all of them are potentially great things, and things I’ve wanted to happen for quite some time. But in all cases it’s too soon to tell how things will work out.
I also saw Legion last week. More on that to come.

Haven’t had a chance to fully check it out, but I definitely appreciate the link – I think KIVA is awesome, but I’d like to do things that help out people here at home, too.
