In the meantime, I received an email from a former co-worker and current friend who I worked with at the company that shall never be named a number of years ago.  Most of the time we don’t discuss them - we’ve moved beyond that now – but every once in a while something comes up that sparks the snarky-ness.

So, for your viewing enjoyment, I present to you the most fantastic article entitled 15 Signs Your Workplace is Dysfunctional.

One last note.  If you recognize your company in this (mine hit all 15), I recommend bolting out the door as soon as possible.  Crappy economy or not, it’s not worth it.

Trust me.

We should have let the mob that cornered him finish the job instead of letting him sit on California’s death row for 20 years with three hots and a cot, wasting the taxpayers’ money.

There is something seriously wrong with the mentality that passing anything requires nothing more than showing up, as if this entitles them to pass go and collect $200.  The school system is shoveling kids along, graduating them when they haven’t learned the basic skills they’re supposed to have learned and this sense of entitlement continues on into college and university level studies as well as the work force.

This is not true of every child in the school system, nor of every parent.  But it is unfortunately prevalent.  And now as a role model we have President Obama who has won the nobel peace prize (lowercase intentional), and who has done absolutely nothing to deserve it.

The way I look at it, it’s kind of like what women generally do in terms of dating:  we tend to date in terms of potential, and potential ain’t jack if one doesn’t live up to it.  Will President Obama live up to his potential?  It’s too soon to tell.  And that is the reason I’m so hacked off.  As far as I’m concerned, President Obama winning the npp when he hasn’t yet earned it not only sends the wrong message, it also reenforces the entitlement mentality that is in dire need of adjustment.

I’m trying to decide which is the best analogy:  the boy who cried wolf or chicken little.

Idiot.

It is freakin’ marine algae.

So much for life imitating art.

The disappointment is overwhelming.

How “Stephen King” is that?

A “giant mystery blob” is crawling through the waters of Alaska, looks like an oil slick, but may be alive?

Does this count as life imitating art?

Or does it have to eat someone first?

Doesn’t that qualify as throwing “good money after bad habits?”

I don’t think 17th-century witch bottles have been the rage for quite some time.

It’d be a great conversation piece.

And I’ll bet my dad would love it.

Well, maybe not.  But he can always re-gift it.

A great way to start the day – especially considering the fact that my essay is on Poppy Z. Brite’s Exquisite Corpse.  Seriously interesting book, but it’s definitely not for the faint of heart.
