#MondayMorningMusic – Wild Thing by Tone Loc

Good morning, peeps!

It’s yet another awesome day to start the week – after a week off with no one’s schedule to contend with, my stress level has dropped immensely, my sense of humor has quickly returned, and my creativity is beginning to be at the forefront of my mind instead of stuffed down while I focus on everything else. This is, in a word, amazing! πŸ™‚

So, lots of things on my plate – things I had to put off for the past couple of years due to having zero time to do them.

I stumbled across “Wild Thing” by Tone Loc over the weekend. It’s one of those songs that reminds me of high school. I’m not entirely sure why because it was not in the realm of music I normally listened to, but there’s something catchy about it. I cannot tap my toe whenever I hear it.

And there are worse ways to start off a week besides toe tappin’. πŸ™‚

#MondayMorningMusic – Tell that Girl to Shut Up by Transvision Vamp

Good morning.

No big story behind this week’s #MondayMorningMusic, except to say that “Tell that Girl to Shut Up” by Transvision Vamp is one of the quintessential high school (after I moved back to the States from Germany, so junior & senior years) songs for me, and the album it’s from (Pop Art) is one of three cassette tapes I still own (the other two being the soundtrack from Dogs in Space and The Greatest Hits, So Far by Public Image Limited).

I know why I kept Dogs in Space and Pop Art on cassette – because neither were available on any other format for the longest time. I’m not sure Dogs in Space is available on anything other than vinyl (although I do have it on CD thanks to a friend of mine). I know I can get PIL on CD, so why I kept the cassette is beyond me.

I think I have a hard time throwing anything away. lol

Does anyone else still have random albums on cassette tapes?

Anyway, enjoy Transvision Vamp and have a Happy Monday! πŸ™‚

A song from my childhood, for sure. Back when my Christmas was accompanied by the combined scents of crisp, cold air, gluehwein, roasted chestnuts, and hot bratwrust with warm brotchen. #ChristmasinGermany πŸ™‚

(Can you believe this year is almost over? I don’t know about you, but it’s zipped by insanely fast!)
